Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Medical Assistant to support both clinical and administrative operations within a busy specialty healthcare practice. This role plays an important part in delivering an exceptional patient experience by assisting providers, coordinating patient care activities, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring efficient daily clinic operations.

The ideal candidate is professional, organized, patient-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for examinations and procedures while supporting efficient clinic flow.
  • Assist physicians and clinical staff during patient visits, exams, and minor procedures.
  • Provide patients with education and instructions regarding treatments, medications, and follow-up care.
  • Accurately document patient interactions, clinical information, and provider instructions within the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Answer and triage patient calls, document communications, and coordinate follow-up as needed.
  • Coordinate prescription requests and communicate with pharmacies when appropriate.
  • Prepare and review patient paperwork, ensuring documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Maintain exam and procedure rooms, including stocking supplies and ensuring cleanliness and organization.
  • Sterilize instruments and maintain proper infection-control standards.
  • Assist with specimen handling, labeling, and processing according to established protocols.
  • Perform phlebotomy services when certified and required.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, coordinators, laboratory personnel, and administrative staff to support patient care.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA and all applicable policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential required.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred.
  • At least 1-2 years of Medical Assistant experience in a clinical setting preferred.
  • Strong understanding of clinical workflows and patient care processes.
  • Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
